Truth & Democracy

The above political parties are worth checking out for common sense or lack of it.

Public and Government

We often feel the need to have our government listen to us yet the only time they tend to do this is when they are looking for our votes. Only then the ear they lend us is not a true listener.

I would propose that a Government of the future should always act in the interest of the people.

Another issue being the stealth taxes sneaked in the back door or the lack of common sense when introducing the smoking ban.

Now imagine how this country would be if you had a say in every issue of Government. Overnight we would see a real democracy. The role of any MP would effectively be as manager of the particular department. Acting on your say so and not the party whip’s. Again I emphasise that you are the true power of the country.

Any politician would like you to forget this fact. A very clever trick played on us all is how the media are linked to politics. Take for example the BBC programme Question Time. This was once a great tool for the public as no politician had any knowledge of what the question was going to be and who from. Yet the fact today is very different. All the shows are recorded a couple of hours earlier. Each audience member is vetted and each question is submitted in advance. Why?. Well the answer to that is that we do not have transparency we have a thinly disguised abuse of your trust. What is it that the BBC are frightened of doing by going back to real live shows with questions that are not vetted or the audience being carefully selected.

How often do we see politicians on television avoiding basic questions. How many times do you hear any politician give a straight yes or no answer to any question. Under my proposal this would not happen. Any politician failing to give a straight answer is failing in their job and would be sacked.

The transparency that the UK political reform is hoping for is the kind of transparency that is rule by the people and for the people.

The role of the media would also change and the political ties would be severed. Just another example of power and questionable links to Governments would be that of a major news media mogul who I cannot name for legal reasons but I am sure you know who I mean. This sort of link would not exist and by having full public interaction with the Government any kind of link would be free of favour. This form of rule would also set a global precedent and perhaps free trade would improve as political favour would cease.

Reform means you being in charge. The political structure as it stands would become a bad memory. True freedom and real democracy is your fundamental right. Not an illusion trick that it currently is.

TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT

Future Britain

The greatest injustice to the people of Britain has been the systematic failure of the entire parliament. It is not just our political figures who have let us down but those who decide on the laws of the land. Both the UK law courts and the politicians have become out of touch with the modern Britain.

Far too much emphasis is placed in foreign policy by our recent governments. Margaret Thatcher was the first Prime Minister to be seen as a world figure for all of the policies that her party stood for. This went hand in hand with the American foreign policy and Britain’s special relationship with the USA was born out her dealings with President Ronald Reagan.

This new direction for Britain being seen as a force in the world was the reputation that has been carried on since 1979. The domestic issues of Britain have in some instances taken second place. The European Federation has been after Britain’s full membership for decades. The idea of three superpower continents is nothing new.

The common name for this political map is the “New World Order”.

Putting aside the conspiracy theorists ideas of what this elitist regime is supposed to be and looking at the basic facts of how over the last few decades the people of Britain are being led a merry dance.

The truth is that a few very wealthy corporations demand certain policy changes in order to work in the British Isles. This is business dictating to a government on how to govern the country. Nothing new in this and it has been going on for centuries. Yet it is this erosion of political power by a few business elitists that have led to the country we have today.

Since the end of the Second World War we have not eradicated poverty. More and more people are living under the poverty threshold with many charities and organisations reporting that children in unprecedented numbers are malnourished. Not only has this kind of poverty increased but the education standards have fallen to record lows.

So the question is asked. What is going on between the various parties that have had terms of office and why is this failure worsening with each decade?

Again no single answer can resolve the question. Yet we as a people have to decide on whether we want a government to act in our interests or do we continue to bury our heads in the sand. By not reacting is exactly what they want and we play into their hands each time we allow another part of our society to evaporate under the sea of modern change according to their rhetoric. More and more young people coming to voting age have little or no interest in politics and this is exactly the point of playing into their hands.

The British electorate is beginning to lose its voice of power. This recession is the catalyst for real change and we must seize upon the power of our voice. The current system of capitalism has become twisted into a bastard version of what it could be. The idea of money and the growth of wealth no longer has any real sense of fairness.

We all accept that no matter what reason we are given for why we went to war with Iraq and now Afghanistan is about oil and the control of the pipelines. Yet we seem to let them deny this basic fact and we do nothing. Yes many did march over this in protest and many more continue to fight the injustice, but what are the rest of us doing?

We have to unite as a people and tell our elected officials that we no longer accept the society in which they are shaping as it is not for our benefit.

REAL VOTES

This is a difficult issue for the country as voting is on an ever decreasing slide. Less people are voting and the simple answer as to why is that many feel that the parties are liars. The youth upon reaching voting age have very little interest and who can blame them.

One friend made a suggestion that I never thought of and am sure would win wide support if it was implemented. On the voting form is an extra 2 boxes. 1st box is for those who have no interest in voting so they mark their box for NO INTEREST. The second box is a vote saying that all the above candidates are NOT SUITABLE. The 2 new boxes are still counted and we will see for the first time in the country a real ballot. This would have to be made law so that all who are eligible to vote must do so.

So looking at the most important extra box of not suitable for all candidates would mean that many who do a protest vote will have their voice heard for the first time. All the politicians would then have to react to this form of voting as this would be the most effective for a true democracy. We would then see the reality of voting in this country when it comes to apathy and those who have no interest. In other words we will see that our governments are elected on a minority margin compared to the actual population figures. This would be deeply unpopular with most present politicians as they would see this as a direct attack on their power. This idea for a rule change on our voting system would need further debate yet I am confident that it will be a very popular topic.

MEDIA

It has been suggested that less than 3% of the UK popoulation are aware of the inconsistencies of news reports on any political issue. What this means is that 97% of the people are being deliberately misled. Of the 3% that try to report the truth, none have been given prime time or front page slots. This in itself must suggest that the media have controls put on them by other bodies; such as political. So 97% of us are not being told the truth about how our country is being run and the propoganda is never more evident than on foreign policy. Take for example the war in Iraq. We were told of weapons of mass destruction and despite the UN finding no evidence we went to war on lies which is now accepted as truth. So if it is now accepted as truth then why has there been no prosecution brought about let alone an immediate investigation. Gordon brown has said the investigation will take place but the date is yet to be decided. What reason is there to wait?

This suggests that by waiting more lies can be conjured up to hide the truth. Evidence can be lossed or shredded. Department heads will have come and gone by the time we get an investigation. This is nothing short of criminal behaviour in its self. If you need further convincing that your country is involved in mass propoganda techniques then look at the following individuals and their continued work for truth.

Links under construction

UKPR does not suggest that it has the answer to every problem or issue, however we do say that among us all and with open dialogue we can find the answers to some of the most pressing problems. By engaging with each other and at least trying to find better solutions on a continued basis is the only way forward. UKPR does not support any static policy as time can change many things and being open to adapt is common sense.

This is the greatest difference between UKPR and any other political party in the UK. For the moment we will remain a pressure group trying to get our MP's to adopt common sense. If they continue to ignore the British and the public needs then UKPR will put itself into the political framework and run for local office and eventualy for Government. If you have any political ambition then contact UKPR. Address on home page.

UKPR needs you to stand up against this unfair system that we currently have. We need people from all social and education backgrounds to join in the fight for a real democracy and a strong Britain. Are you the next Prime Minister? can you take UKPR into the political arena by showing that people do matter in this country?
